"Town full of smackheads..."

Maybe not politically correct, but they make it so easy. Today we played Liverpool at home. Torres started which was super exciting, but thankfully he played a bit shit :-) I don't condone the "waste of money" chants though, he's only a young lad and i'm sure he'll be 'estupendo' for Liverpool once he settles into the English game, and way of life.

So onto the match in question. We were robbed "badum tish" We seriously didn't deserve to lose the game, as we gave Liverpool quite a challenge (we wee 'ole-ing' at one point for gods sake!) The ref and linesman were a bit crap but that's usually the norm these days. Michael Brown was immense (and man of the match in my opinion) and Titus Bramble was winning everything thrown at him! Quote of the day from the bloke behind me aimed at Jamie Carragher: "Tha's retired from international football 'cos tha's shit Carragher" Where do we get 'em!

Liverpool seemed a bit average to be quite fair, and i would say that they'll never win the league playing like that, which could prove to be true, however they must be elated that they played badly and still got 3 points, which is what top league teams need to do, i suppose the end of the season will enlighten us.

Emile Heskey was presented with a framed Wigan and England shirt to commemerate him being the first Wigan player to gain a full England cap, (see Bainsey, you don't have to be playing with a 'big club') the club couldn't have picked a better day to do it on with Liverpool being in town, he quite rightly got a massive standing ovation, we missed him today :-( On a brighter note though Ryan Taylor made his come back, coming off the bench deep in the second half. I hope his injuries are behind him now, poor lads had two broken legs and a broken foot in the space of around 2 years. He was starting to become a regular in the England U21's beforehand, hopefully he'll be able to recapture his form.

Portsmouth had a fab game today 7-4! Not a scoreline you see very often! And speaking of Portsmouth, Mr Nugent has been hitting the headlines today for all the wrong reasons. He sent a random girl he'd met in a nightclub a nudey picture of himself, in the hopes that he'd win her over. She just sent it round all her friends and it's ended up all over the sun! Silly boy :-)

"It's just a five minute walk...."

Had a great time in Cardiff this weekend, we set off at 1.30 Friday afternoon, trusty sat nav in tow, intending to get past Birmingham by rish hour. No sodding chance as the traffic going down the M6 was horrendous! Eventually got to our hotel at 7pm.

For our tea we went to a lovely little Italian called Bella Italia where i had the most amazing pizza ever, we also saw Trevor Sinclair in there too. No-one else batted an eyelid apart from us. They must see England Internationals every day in Cardiff!

Met Emily, Boyo, Henri and Schminky Steve (the real life alien) after we'd had our tea. Went to some random bar which i wasn't that keen on. They had the most horrendous barman stripping for some poor girl who was unlucky enough to have a birthday. There were some scary looking people in there too.

After that we had one of the famous 'five minute walks' to another bar. I'm sure they have a different time zone to us as they were NOT 5 minute walks! This bar was a bit better, we then went to Insomnia via a failed attempt to get in walkabout, and stayed in there until 2.30.

We failed to get in walkabout due to Boyo and Henri both wearing trainers, Boyo had an ingenious plan to put their socks over there trainers, so they could try again. This caused much hilarity between us, and some random paramedics, and although Boyo's looked far more convincing, it was actually Henri who got past the scary door woman and Boyo who got turned away!

Insomnia was quite cool. Sat downstairs for a bit and watched a ridiculously pissed lad who quite frankly didn't look old enough, and a weird looking lad attempting to kick off with each other, and then toddled off upstairs to see if there was anything there. What we did find was an empty room with a bar and a pool table. Brilliant!

On Saturday we got to Ninian Park after another 'five minute' walk and met up with Lauren. The match was a bit crap, apart from Prestons two goals, which did look better on the telly. Thankfully afterwards we had Steve as our escort back to the city centre, handy really as for some unknown reason Henri had decided to wear his Preston shirt! We pissed ourselves as a little child of roughly 7 years old pushed him and called him scum! On the way back there was some sort of asian parade going on which was really really good, lots of women dressed in lovely coloured saris and men singing and dancing and banging drums. Some people we're painted blue for some reason too :-S

After we got back to the centre we parted ways, the drive back was miles better, took us about 3 1/2 hours, and we saw Liam Chilvers at the services, coming out of Burger King. Maybe that's why Preston can't win any matches ;-)

Cardiff here we come!

I'm going to Cardiff on Friday with Chris meeting some friends for a night out and Cardiff v Preston. I'm sooo excited! It'll be nice seeing Emily again as the last and only time i saw her was back in February in Sheffield. I finally picked my outfit today, white top with illuminous pink skulls all over it (modelled by Charley in Big Brother, but we'll convieniently forget about that) black leggings and black patent peep toe wedges.

Applied for a new job today, a 9 month secondment in student services covering maternity leave. I hope i get it, as it will be nice to have a change, plus it's great experience. I should hopefully be on the same salary too so i can't go wrong really!

Star England striker Emile Heskey has had an operation today on his broken metertarsal. Poor Emile :-( Highly unlikely he's reading my blog, but i wish him a speedy recovery, not just because we'll probably not score now for the next 6-8 weeks, but because he seems like a very nice bloke.

Arrrgghhh!

Work is madness! It seems like every weirdo has enroled at college this year. As well as weird i mean awkward too. One woman had a go at me this morning because i had the audacity to tell her she has to buy a pass to park on the carpark. Hello! Your not special you know! She got really stroppy and childlike, so i started being sarcastic to her, much hilarity when she came back half an hour later with a form to claim money for her college materials. Mwahahahaha!! I was very tempted to 'accidently' knock it into the bin but i didn't for reasons unbeknown even to me.

We had a great laugh later on when we realised she was asking for a laptop, because she has a lot of computer work to do. Ha, like we're just going to give you a laptop you silly bint. And guess what course she's doing........FLORISTRY!!

Didn't realise you needed a £400 laptop computer to arrange flowers.

I had a nice surprise today too, turns out that i get time and a half for any extra time i work so i've got 10 1/2 hours just for working two extra evenings :-) Just what i need as i want to finish early two days next week.

Accrington Stanley...Who are they?

Exactly!

Accrington Stanley are kind of my second team. I've watched them quite a bit over the past few years with my uncle being a season ticket holder, but i've not been recently, and with them certainly needing the cash at the moment and this weekend being an international weekend, me and chris decided we'd go.

They played Grimsby and won 4-1 quite comfortably, so maybe we are lucky charms who knows!

Half time consisted of a game of 'crossbar challenge' which i think most teams have now. What happens at Accy is that a programme number is selected at random, this person then makes themselves known and can have a go at hitting the cross bar from the edge of the box for the chance to win £1000 yes £1000! The programme thing failed, so they had to come and pull someone out of the crowd by throwing a football into the crowd, whoever catches it wins. Simple.

Unfortunatly a girl caught it, nothing wrong with that i hear you cry! However she had been slightly silly that morning and decided to go to the football in the most ridiculous pair of wedge sandals. let's just say she failed miserably on all 3 of her attempt, and the radio station running the competition kept hold of there £1000.

After the match we went into the crown pub to watch the England match. Another comfortable win. Michael owens goal was amazing, and Heskey was certainly a handful (although he should have burried his chance in the first half). Hopefully we'll have more of the same on Wednesday.

I saw my friend Charlene's little baby Mia yesterday too. She is the most adorable thing ever and seemed to love me. She just slept in my arms for a good half an hour, Although she's 2 weeks old, i doubt she does anything else at this point.

It's not over yet

Very pleased that the Klaxons have won the Mercury music prize. I do have to say that i really like Amy Winehouse too, but she really needs to get her act together.

Septembers not over yet either, so i'm still a busy busy bee! We took more money on monday than the whole first week of last September, it's madness. I have also stupidly volunteered to work late next Tuesday too. Silly me. I will get 3 hours of lieu time though which will come in handy when i want time off to get my hair done :-)

Heskey for England!

I can't believe it! Emile Heskey has been re-called to the England squad! Ha! Seriously though, he comes across as a very nice man and i'm very pleased for him, as long as it doesn't tire him out for our next match ;-)

Todays i've been out for a meal with my boyfriends family, to the italian orchard where we went for out anniversary meal. I didn't eat quite as much this time so i didn't feel like throwing up in the car on the way home, it was lovely though.

Today i have also learned that a member of a messageboard that i frequent has sadly passed away. This is a terrible shock, even though i have never met the bloke, you get to know someone by how and what they post. RIP BB.

Back to dreaded work tomorrow. We have all the public services students coming in to pay for their flammable shellsuits, which should keep us busy for an hour or two, and there'll probably be loads more people enroling too.
