I must be on a little winning streak

Won £40 on the on the lottery Saturday, i've probably pushed my luck now and i'll never win anything ever again. Hey ho!

Christmas day tomorrow, i'm so excited! Did a bit of last minute shopping at Asda this morning, which wasn't too busy thankfully. Got a few visits today to my auntie and best friend, then i can get wrapped up in my new pyjamas and dressing gown ready for Father Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas number 1

It's that time of year again (just after x factor/pop idol/popstars etc etc) have finished when thought turns to the christmas number one. Now i'm not that bothered about who's number one anymore at any time of the year really, as it's kind of lost its meaning a bit, with all the downloads and what not. Downloads are a good idea don't get me wrong, smaller bands can now get recognition and a bit more money in the coffers just on downloads alone. This year however i'm going to take a bit more of an interest, i've not really been that interested in music this year, and i'm making it my new years resolution to unearth a few new bands to listen to in 2008, ala 2005 with the Kaiser Chiefs, Killers, Bravery, Bloc Party etc.

So who's running for the coverted Christmas number one this year:

1. The obvious one - Leon from x factor. Probably didn't really win it but that's a whole different story. He's releasing a cover of 'when you believe'. Very Christmassy, although i don't think it sounds as good on the radio as he did singing it live on the x factor shows.

2. Blake - The band of choirboys who formed on facebook are releasing a copy of White Christmas. Not the best christmas song, but certainly a classic.

3. Sugababes - My favourite. The second release from their new album change is the signiture track. Following on the back of 'about you now' the 3 piece just keep getting better and better.

4. Kate Nash - Maybe an outside contender with her new single 'Pumpkin soup' .

Verdict: My choice for number one would be Sugababes. I'd love them (or anyone else for that matter) to break the monopoly of having a reality number one. I think most bands shy away from releasing at Christmas due to the fact that most reality singles are nailed on from number one, and it's taking all the fun out of the charts. I have heard that the people at the fantastic strictly come dancing are releasing the theme tune in time for christmas with Aleesha singing the lyrics to it. It would be good (if true) if it could sneak in there ahead of Leon. However i don't think there's any doubt that Leon will get the Christmas number one this year sadly.

Why stop at face cream....

You may (or may not) remember that a couple of weeks ago i was estatic as winning some flash face cream from a magazine competition. Well i arrived home last night to an official looking parcel that had been sent special delivery. Turns out i've won an LG chocolate phone in Lilac :-) I was going to stick it on ebay as i have a contract phone, but my mum offered to buy it and i've pocketed a cool £50!

Today is the last day at work before we break for christmas. We've been told we can't go early as we're off Christmas Eve and we can't expect to finish early today as well. Scrooge! The bloody prinicipal's retiring today for heavens sake, why does he care what time we go!?

Yesterday we did secret santa, Tracey had me and she got me a cool pair of gloves (the thickest one's she could find because i'm always cold apparantly!) I also had a nightmare at the sorting office, after queueing half an hour to pick up a parcel i was told that it wasn't there. Another trip there today looks likely. I did get a bargain in H&M though. I got this ace long coat with a hood for £19.99 reduced from £39.99. I also got some bargain pumps that had been reduced from £20 to £8!

Bloody Weather!

I HAVE A COLD!

Only just noticed i've typed in capitals by mistake but i think it's rather apt, now i'm not one of these people who gets all wimpy over a cold (unless i'm with christopher, in a bid to get even more cuddles ;-) but having one this close to Christmas is rubbish!

I've been dosing myself up with lemsip and having red hot baths to try and combat. Hopefully it will be gone by Tuesday.

Work is boring. We're doing the secret santa tomorrow though which should be fun. I've got Lauren the new girl in student services, got her a necklace from accesorize which is really really nice. Hope she likes it.

Short blog tonight as i have steak, mash and gravy waiting, yum!

Forgot to add

I came home from Chris's this morning, came off the motorway at Orrell and got stuck in about a mile of traffic coming into Pemberton. Whilst looking around day dreaming, i saw that the bloke in the BMW behind me was only Paul bloody Scharner!! What a day to NOT have my Wigan Athletic mini kit in my window!

Ole....Ole...Ole....Booo!!!

Wigan 5 Blackburn 3

Yes you did read that right. We actually won.

We looked great today, the team look like they're really trying hard to impress Steve Bruce, and it's clearly having a positive effect. Ryan Taylor finally started and had a storming game. His corners need a bit of work but his free kicks certainly look threatening.

When Blackburn got one back i did worry that we'd lose 4-3 and when they got level at 3-3 i was certain we were going to lose 4-3. However step forward Marcus Bent. Not content with scoring just one he bagged 3! What have they been feeding him! Titus Bramble had another good game too, Blackburn were coming forward and a bloke behind me was screaming at him to 'put it in row z' put it in row z he certainly did! It actually hit the advertising hordings at the back of the stand! Ha

All in all a fantastic match, it had everything, 8 goals, a missed penalty, a sending off (for Blackburn) and poor Emile Heskey got stretchered off :-( I hope he's ok, just more proof that we need a top quality striker in January.

Another person i hope is ok is christopher, he's gone to Burnley today, they won 3-2. Whoop!! But he's on the train home because he didn't want to waste petrol with the fuel blocade that never happened *roll*

I won!

Got home from work today to discover a parcel on my computer desk. I've only gone and won some swanky face cream in a competiton! I am actually in shock i've never won anything before :-)

Went to bingo tonight to see if i could continue my winning streak (i couldn't) and we were sat near a woman who won £45,000 there a couple of weeks ago. Wouldn't you think she'd give someone else a go!

They're here, they're there

They're fucking everywhere, empty seats, empty seeeeats!

I am ever so sorry about my language but that was the only highlight of my day yesterday. We lost 4-1 at the shitbok. It was cold, Paul Scharner gave away a penalty (which thankfully Anelka skied) shortly after scoring one of the best own goals you'll ever see, and Ryan Taylor didn't play :-(

Sort it out Bruce!

The carpark was a bit scandalous at £6! But we did manage to get out quickly after the match which was good as i was in no mood to hang around.

Poor Ricky Hatton lost in Las Vegas Saturday night/Sunday morning, i missed the fight but by all accounts he did well and was gutted that he'd let everyone down. Bless him.

Amir Khan however took a bit of the spotlight, he knocked Graham Earl out in 72 seconds! Go Amir! Because of him we didn't miss match of the day! :-) earl sounded like a right cocky so and so, so i'm glad Amir showed him how it's done.

Works really getting me down as usual. Today on the bulletin there was a job for an admin assessor, now however they are asking for the A1 units essential after asking for it desirable last time for the exact same fucking job. They make the job specs to suit whoever they want in post and it stinks. I was that mas i actually rang HR and asked why there are variations in the posts and they couldn't answer *rolly eyes*

What made me even more annoyed after that was the fact that yet again i am going to be on my own til 11 tomorrow. I'm sorry but i cannot physically run the reception AND man the switchboard. Angela my boss said to see how it goes and that her and Lindsey can help out. Yea my arse, angela won't get up to people who come into student services never mind reception, and then it all gets left to Lindsey. Well she can fuck off. I am not opening, if she wants to then she can deal with all the visitors. I am sixk to death of being walked all over in that place, i'm going to start standing up for myself.

Club Tropicana drinks are freeeeee...

They might be in club tropicana but they are aren't at the JJB Stadium! Went on our Christmas do last night to the Wham tribute at the JJB Stadium. I really enjoyed them, saw them a bit back at half time, they were singing and then did the 'come on wigan you know the words...' to be met with silence. They could only get better!

Me and chris were the first ones dancing, and i didn't really stop dancing until we went home at 12. Thought my car had been locked on the car park but there was one entrance still open (Phew!) Got home however, chris went home and i stood outside for 10 mins trying to get into my flat unsuccessfully. Had to drive to chris' in the end and stay there. Still here actually, hope Preston beat Blackpool today else i'll have a moody christopher for the rest of the day. He has forewarned me though i suppose which is good. I've got my books here so i'll just sit and read :-)

Just ordered some fab PJ's from La Senza, they are all sooo good. Mine say worn out party girl, which i feel after last night. I don't know what got into my little legs! Think it was my Zara shoes being soooo comfy! The PJ's are cool though, quite expensive at £20 but good quality, i'm going to get more after Christmas so i've got lots of choice and they don't get worn out so quickly.

And on a last note....'mon Hatton tonight! Mayweather sounds like a right arse so i hope Ricky knocks his head off :-)

P.S

I've virtually fixed my computer and i've found my purple shoes :-) £15! Bargain!

So this is Christmas...

It's creeping up fast now, had our christmas dinner at work today, which was alright but nothing special, and Friday is our Christmas do. Still got a few last minute bits and bobs to get but nothing major which is good! I bought a tree on Sunday which is now stood proudly in the corner of the living room. It looks ace! Chris said it looks pretty like me :-)

On Saturday we managed to get a draw againist Citeh, which was a very good result. Poor Titus made a right cock up for their goal, i feel really sorry for him as it's obviously been magnified, but he'll coem good will our Titus, and i think he'll be a big player for us in the future. Paul Scharner scored out goal but tbh i think he's a right wanker now. First of all there was the comments about Chris Hutchings on his website (which have now been mysteriously removed, I've no doubt that the comments on the article calling him shit have also been removed) now he's slagging Steve bruce off! He's your CURRENT manager Paul, he's not going anywhere, but hopefully you will come January. We don't need players with bad attitudes at our club thank you.

Mario Melchiot got sent off too which wasn't good, particularly as Steve Bruce has *allegedly* said that he is the worst player he ever bought and he disrupts dressing rooms. Eek. Another one that might be gone with the left over turkey in January.

One player who *hopefully* won't be going anywhere is Emile Heskey. He got taken off with a slight knock on Saturday but i'd imagine he'll be fit for Bolton on Sunday as i think he was just taken off as a precaution.

I however missed all the fun and games at the JJB. I went to Wolves to watch Preston. Yes yes i know! But new ground and all that....

After my visit to the Molyneux, Stoke has been knocked off the top spot in the coldest grounds league.

Friday night i went to an Italian with Chris's family. It was lovely, i had garlic bread with cheese and then a margarhita pizza. Saturday night was spent with my beloved, we watched a reeeeeeally good programme about the southern coast, bournemouth and lynn regis etc, and we spent the night cuddled up together which is my fave thing in the whole world!

I hate technology and all that it stands for!!

Ok, maybe going a bit OTT, but my computer is having a mad 'un and i can't make it right again :-(

For the past week i've not been able to log onto my profile because either i haven't got sufficient security rights, or a have a corrupt local profile. I've done numerous virus scans which have been clear and i've been messing around in the 'help' bit not having a clue what i'm reading about. I just want someone to put it right for me! I've lost everything on my computer and my internet settings at the moment and i can't save anything i do do on it now! Arrrggghhh!! I'm seriously about to have a Nikki from big brother moment pretty soon!

I spent a bit more of my birthday money today on a nice cardigan from topshop, it sure ain't gonna keep me warm but it's lovely. I'm now on the lookout for some purple shoes, preferably platforms. I've seen some nice ones from office which are a copy of a pair of YSL ones, with a 5 inch heel and 1 inch platform, but i'm worried about buying them off the internet in case i don't like them in real life. What i'd love is my zara shoes in purple, however Benidorms a logn way away now. I've seen some in Faith that will do should i not find my dream pair but i'll keep in hunting 'em down.

Started a new book about 10 mins ago called 'A girl for all seasons' by Camilla Morton. So far it's good, like a fashionistas bible (maybe she'll tell me where i can seek out some elusive purple platforms) with tips and ideas. Foreword from Manolo Blahnik too. Wooaaahhh!!

To end my blog i would like to wish my cousin Victoria happy birthday, she is 22 today and i hope she's had a fab day.

Adios!!

P.S If any computer boffins are reading this who can help with my computer problem please speak up, i may go mad otherwise.

P.P.S Likewise any fashion gurus who can find me some gorgeous pueple heels that won't make me look like a drag queen.

Yet again...

I woke up this morning thinking "oh my hair doesn't look too bad today, no need to wash it" and yet again it's looking slightly greasy. Do i ever learn!

I had a fabby birthday, got lots of monies, prezzies and cards. Woke up at like 6.30 on Saturday morning because i couldn't sleep! Managed to hold off waking chris up til 9 though. We sat in bed whilst i opened everything, and then we went shopping. I got a hat. That is it, even chris managed to do better than me by buying a shirt (very nice too!) We went to the football saturday afternoon/eveningish. They lost again. Then we went to Frankie and Bennys for a meal. I had a great day which was all the more special due to christopher being there. Funniest part of the weekend was when he said "it's not your birthday anymore, you can't tell me what to do" Mwahaha!

I thought my best friend had forgotten it was my birthday, she probs had tbh! She text me this morning saying she was a rubbish friend, bless her. She is forgiven though as i know she's got a lot on at the minute being a new mum and all.

Today i am going spending my birthday money in my dinner hour. I trip to Primark is a must! I also went to bingo last night with my mum, auntie and uncle. We won a total of £200 meaning we each got £50. I also got a massive cuddly bear that my auntie managed to blag for me. I sat him on the couch this morning in order to give my mum a fright when she gets up! Ha

2 days to go...

My hair looks a little greasy today, i should have washed it this morning.

Steve McLaren has been sacked. Whoop! I think the next manager should be foreign as there are no English managers good enough at the moment.

We're sat at work at the moment, me, Christine and Tracey with a website up that refreshes every 60 seconds trying to track a Nintendo Wii down. Christine wants to get her son one for christmas but she's having no luck.

Oh well

UPDATE: I found her one for normal price on hmv.co.uk, i am officially ace!

Wednesday, 21 November 2007

3 days to go...

Had my hair done today, i've gone darker and it looks ace. I'm pretty sure it will make Chris excitable when i see him on Friday :-)

We have also just lost to Croatia which means we don't qualify for Euro 2008. Steve McLaren must resign or be sacked as he is in no way fit to manage the England squad. The players too must take responsibility as only Crouch stood out tonight as being half decent. Shame he ended up, up front on his own with no support from his team mates. I am embarrassed to be an English football fan at the moment.

Strange going on's have been happening at the JJB today too. A press conference was scheduled for 2pm to unveil Steve Bruce as our new manager. The press were assembled, only for Brenda Spencer to come out and say that the appointment had been delayed due to a technical hitch between Steve and Birmingham City :-S

Apparantly it's only a hitch over an advance payment that Bruce recieved and there's questions over whether he's to pay it back or not. I hope it's resolved as i'd quite like a real manager to be shaperoning the team down to Arsenal at the weekend.

Tuesday, 20 November 2007

4 days to go...

I've seriously not been milking this birthday malarky as much as i should i feel. Still there's still some time left yet. Got paid today, but have to do my road tax tonight, it soon comes round.

Saw a hat in topshop today that i shall be getting with my birthday monies, tis getting extremely cold now so i'm going to have to wrap up warm. I also need something to wear saturday night for mine and christophers meal. I'm finally going to give my Zara shoes a debut, hope i don't fall over whilst carrying my meal back to the table!

On Saturday i am meeting up with Lauren at the football for a chat, not seen her for a while so it will be nice to catch up. I am not cheating on you Emily i swear. Ha ha!

And tomorrow i have Charlene and Mia visiting, really excited, although she will have to leave before England Croatia kicks off! I'll get to see her new car this time too, although i'm sure it will be no green machine!

Things that have got on my nerves today include:

1. Thick students picking cheques up. Cheques are given to students for help with their materials. All they have to do is sign a box next to their name on a sheet of paper. Simple? No!
Student: "Where do i sign?"
Me: "Next to your name?"
Student: "Here?"
Me: "No, thats isn't your name is it, next to yours?"
How bloody hard can it be!?

2. At work we are behind bullet proof glass like in a bank, so we have the little trays at the bottom of the glass with the slidy plastic thing. If one more person tries to put something on top of the plastic slidy thing and force it underneath i may well scream. There is blatently a tray there to drop things in, why won't they do it!?

Monday, 19 November 2007

5 days to go....

We've had a menu through for our christmas do today, it looks scrummy!

Starter - Vegetable, chive and thyme soup finished with baby leaf spinach and pouring cream served with warm bread.

Main course - Breast of turkey in an orange glaze with traditional savoury seasoning and chipolata specially selected fresh vegetables and potatoes.

Dessert - Chocolate, cinnamon and winter berry chocolate cup finished with praline served with fruit coulis.

I could actually eat all of that now, tis only 10.10am!

I've done a deal with Emily: She meets my mum when she's next up here, and her mum will make me lasange when i go down there :-)

Quite a food orientated blog this morning, think i'll go and get some breakfast.

Toodles.

The final countdown

To my birthday, 6 days and counting! I can also have my ugg boots too which have been taunting me from the top of Chris's wardrobe for the past couple of weeks.

Went to Fionas party on Friday, had a really good time and the most amazing meat and potato pie ever, and as i'm from Wigan, i AM the expert! Saturday we had lots of fun christmas shopping. I finally tracked down the candle in debenhams i wanted for chris's mum, and discovered that Lush has opened in Preston! The snow fairy will be there next weekend so i'm going to pop along and maybe get some snow fairy shower gel as they only sell it at Christmas.

Saturday night, we went for a nice meal at the carvery and then went back to mine for cuddling on the couch. We watched Lee Sharpes football hooligan hall of shame on Bravo which was really really good. Who knew the Polish were such hardened hooligans :-o We also watched Lee Evans, i spent the whole first 10 minutes saying he was crap and then ended up laughing away at him. I firmly take my comments back!

Today we should have been going back to Chris's to watch PNE v Hyde United, but by the time we got back to Preston we decided it was too cold so we snuggled up in bed all day :-) That is my kind of sunday!

Sunday, 11 November 2007

So we've lost again...

What's new. Tottenham (who are also relegation fodder with us at the minute) beat us 4-0 at White Hart lane. We let Darren Bent score for goodness sake! Hope we get a new manager in place soon with Hutch being sacked, but Whelans bloody sunning himself in the Carribean at the moment *rollyeyes*

I've just been to deliver avon orders, lordy tis cold out there. If i was sensible i would have worn my new hate and scarf set but i'm not sensible in the slightest so i didn't :-) I'm so cold now i can barely type.

Went for a nice meal with Chris on Friday, was a complete surprise which was nice. We went to the carvery and stuffed our faces. The we did nothing the rest of the weekend, just relaxed. Next weekend it's Fionas birthday so there's a little party going on on Friday. Must get her a prezzie this week. The the weekend after tis my birthday, so i'm fully expecting to be treated like the Princess that i am ;-)

What's with the running?!

Just a little something that i've noticed, no matter which football ground in the country you go to, or what time you leave there is always people running outside afterwards. Why? Where do they have to go so quickly that it requires running?

Anyway, back to today. Wigan V Chelsea. They tonked Citeh 6-0 last week, so i wasn't very optimistic as i can't remember the last time we won tbh! We were shit to put it bluntly, and lost 2-0. I have never seen a team cheat/playact as much. Mario Melchiot was superb as usual, and Titus Bramble played really well, as did Valencia. The restwere shite though. Scharner should be dropped until he regains his form, as should Marcus Bent. And what is with Ryan Taylor not even making the bench! He's one of our best players by far!

We should have had a penalty about 3-4 minutes in, very blatant, and shortly afterwards i realised that we were playing 4-5-1. What the hell! Sends out the message to both players and fans that "actually we're a bit shit, and we're going to get mullered. Might as well not bother attacking" If this carries on as much as i like Hutchings he will have to go. The only worry is the shit that's about at the moment. Bolton appointed Gary Megson for gods sake!

The 5 man midfield seemed to disappear and Marcus Bent was the 1, enough said.

That Chelsea glow in the dark away kit is horrfic too, i was temporarily blinded for a few seconds after looking at it! The very best in highlighter chic!

The Sugababes are playing in Preston in April, i might actually want to go as i like the Sugababes, persuading Christopher might be another matter, especially at £26 a ticket!

Half term

Tis half term this week, so mega quiet in work. Quite good really as i've got loads of work to do for my NVQ 3 Admin. I'm aiming to get it done by christmas which i don't think is an unrealistic target really, if i push on with it. Whilst doing this i'm also trying a career change. I've started a course to become a qualified NVQ Assessor, which means new job and loads more money :-) I have to assess 3 students on 1 unit each by Easter and get my portfolio done. Really looking forward to starting it.

On Saturday we got beaten yet again. Marcus Bent scored 2 goals and we still couldn't bloody win against Birmingham of all teams. We really should be beating the teams that are around us, and this is now 5 defeats on the bounce. Watch out Hutchings! Next Saturday we've got Chelsea at home, so i'd imagine we'll clock up 6 defeats and Chelsea might clock up 6 goals ala the drubbing they gave Man Citeh at the weekend. Not looking forward to this at all!

Bloody Microsoft

I failed my Microsoft Word exam, that is all.

Wigan!

Had a great weekend. Emily came up with her boyfriend Gareth for the Wigan Pompey match (whihc unfortunatly we lost - rolly eye thingymabob) We were shit, thanks Emily for pointing that out ;-) The entire team was shocking, Jason Koumas was definately not his usual self, he just didn't seem to know what to do with the ball when he got the thing. Special mention has to go to Marcus Bent though. What a shocking footballer, if we wanted a striker who spends the whole match on his arse we'd have signed Mr Blobby thanks.

Titus Bramble is going up in my estimation though, he saved two clear goals when the Pompey strikers were through, and played generally well.

I met David Nugent after the match (he sadly wasn't naked this time) Mwahahaha, have some of that Ems ;-)

Saturday night i trollied into Wigan to watch the rugby, they lost too, useless bastards. Then went in Berkely Square and Reflex, via Mr Joes for chips :-) Reflex is aceness, i'm a right 80's child. We had a few drinky poos in their before heading off home, with hopefully another meet up planned in a couple of weeks. I like Emily, she's cool :-)

On Sunday it was my mums birthday (Happy Birthday Mummy!) so after driving a hung over Christopher home, we went to the Reebok Stadium (I felt so dirty!) for this Christmas craft fayre, it was really nice. There were all sorts of stalls selling things like Jewellry, and different craft things, plus a massive card making/scrapbooking stall that was really cheap!

Had Burger King on the way home then watched West Ham V Sunderland. Poor Craig Gordon, i bet he couldn't score that goal again if he tried bless 'im!

I hate work

Quite possibly the most over used phrase ever but it's true. I have a boring job and i've been here far too long. For the minute though i'm only hanging on until i move to Preston with my beloved next year. Students really are quite thick. My spanish course ends in May, so i'll be holding on til then and doing some job hunting a couple of months before hand.

I had applied for a temporary job in student services before my holibobs, but the interviews were while i was away, HR lady said that if they didn't get anyone for the job then i could have an interview when i came back (i'm not sure how legal that is) however i've since learned that both of the other candidates dropped out of the running before interview time, so now i'll get an interview but they've also re-advertised it! As it happens though i'm not sure about being tied here til next November so they can tickle off the cheeky bastards!

I've also got some level 3 admin work to do for my portfolio. I just can't be bothered at the moment, i've hit a right mid course slump! I do need this though, so i'm trying to plod my way through, i've got a lot of essays to do and i have to conduct a meeting with someone i work with, which is an easy part i suppose.

I'm looking forward to the weekend though. Emily is coming up to Wigan with her other half to watch her football team lose ;-) and then we're trollying off round Wigan via a trip to Preston to pick Chris up after the rugby final. I have to decide what to wear now though! Primark had some amazing high waisted grey skinny jeans in but they haven't got them now, i was thinking of wearing my new snazzy purple tights with boots and maybe my denim shorts. I shall have to see.

I've not straightened my hair for nearly two weeks now! This is quite some feat as i've been straightening it every day for yonks. It just looked really good on holiday unstraightened, and my hair seems to have grown quite substantially. I'm going to see if i can go til christmas without using them. Eek!

Hola!

Got back from sunny spain yesterday. Had a great time apart from the Thursday and Friday when it rained, thundered and lightened none stop. Half of Spain flooded! The weather was great the rest of the time though, 28 in the day and 22 at night, i've come back with a not too shabby tan :-)

The flights and transfers we're pretty good, although i've discovered that i HATE taking off, tis the hurtling down the runway bit that i don't like :-(

The hotel was absolutly lovely! I can see why it's had such rave reviews. The apartments were massive and the pools were lovely and clean, although lots of irresponsible parents had taken their kids out of school, thank heavens for the adult only pool! I almost learned how to swim, and would have if it hadn't been for the bloody weather!

The hotel was quite far from anything though, we had a 10 minute walk down a massive hill to get to old benidorm where there were lots of lovely little restaurants to eat in. Didn't see any English people outside of the hotel, which was quite nice actually as we got to sample a lot of spanish culture. Didn't see any in the hotel either come to think of it as everyone was bloody Scottish!

Went shopping on Thursday and got the most gorgeous pair of shoes from Zara! Got a winter coat too and came out 120 euros lighter but hey ho, no one else will have the same coat as me :-)

Friday we went in a Man United bar (ran by scots, how ironic!) to watch the England under 21's. We also got to watch emmerdale and corrie before it started. Ha.

All in all the week was fab, it went really slowly too, it was great spending so much time with chris although it feels super weird now i'm at home on my own :-(

Tuesday, 2 October 2007

Excitement!

I'm going on holiday to Benidorm on Saturday. Super excited. Can't wait! Just me and Christopher and a week relaxing and sunning ourselves, Chris is also going to try and teach me how to swim. I wish him luck!

Trying to keep myself busy so the time will pass quickly, going to bingo with mother tomorrow night in the hope of winning some extra spends, and then on Thursday i'm having my nails done and collecting avon books. Friday i'll be going to Chris's for a nice early night before we jet off in the morning! :-)

Lee McCulloch's scored tonight for Rangers in the Champions League bless him, i bet he's made up! and so far even Preston are winning! Woop!

"Town full of smackheads..."

Maybe not politically correct, but they make it so easy. Today we played Liverpool at home. Torres started which was super exciting, but thankfully he played a bit shit :-) I don't condone the "waste of money" chants though, he's only a young lad and i'm sure he'll be 'estupendo' for Liverpool once he settles into the English game, and way of life.

So onto the match in question. We were robbed "badum tish" We seriously didn't deserve to lose the game, as we gave Liverpool quite a challenge (we wee 'ole-ing' at one point for gods sake!) The ref and linesman were a bit crap but that's usually the norm these days. Michael Brown was immense (and man of the match in my opinion) and Titus Bramble was winning everything thrown at him! Quote of the day from the bloke behind me aimed at Jamie Carragher: "Tha's retired from international football 'cos tha's shit Carragher" Where do we get 'em!

Liverpool seemed a bit average to be quite fair, and i would say that they'll never win the league playing like that, which could prove to be true, however they must be elated that they played badly and still got 3 points, which is what top league teams need to do, i suppose the end of the season will enlighten us.

Emile Heskey was presented with a framed Wigan and England shirt to commemerate him being the first Wigan player to gain a full England cap, (see Bainsey, you don't have to be playing with a 'big club') the club couldn't have picked a better day to do it on with Liverpool being in town, he quite rightly got a massive standing ovation, we missed him today :-( On a brighter note though Ryan Taylor made his come back, coming off the bench deep in the second half. I hope his injuries are behind him now, poor lads had two broken legs and a broken foot in the space of around 2 years. He was starting to become a regular in the England U21's beforehand, hopefully he'll be able to recapture his form.

Portsmouth had a fab game today 7-4! Not a scoreline you see very often! And speaking of Portsmouth, Mr Nugent has been hitting the headlines today for all the wrong reasons. He sent a random girl he'd met in a nightclub a nudey picture of himself, in the hopes that he'd win her over. She just sent it round all her friends and it's ended up all over the sun! Silly boy :-)

"It's just a five minute walk...."

Had a great time in Cardiff this weekend, we set off at 1.30 Friday afternoon, trusty sat nav in tow, intending to get past Birmingham by rish hour. No sodding chance as the traffic going down the M6 was horrendous! Eventually got to our hotel at 7pm.

For our tea we went to a lovely little Italian called Bella Italia where i had the most amazing pizza ever, we also saw Trevor Sinclair in there too. No-one else batted an eyelid apart from us. They must see England Internationals every day in Cardiff!

Met Emily, Boyo, Henri and Schminky Steve (the real life alien) after we'd had our tea. Went to some random bar which i wasn't that keen on. They had the most horrendous barman stripping for some poor girl who was unlucky enough to have a birthday. There were some scary looking people in there too.

After that we had one of the famous 'five minute walks' to another bar. I'm sure they have a different time zone to us as they were NOT 5 minute walks! This bar was a bit better, we then went to Insomnia via a failed attempt to get in walkabout, and stayed in there until 2.30.

We failed to get in walkabout due to Boyo and Henri both wearing trainers, Boyo had an ingenious plan to put their socks over there trainers, so they could try again. This caused much hilarity between us, and some random paramedics, and although Boyo's looked far more convincing, it was actually Henri who got past the scary door woman and Boyo who got turned away!

Insomnia was quite cool. Sat downstairs for a bit and watched a ridiculously pissed lad who quite frankly didn't look old enough, and a weird looking lad attempting to kick off with each other, and then toddled off upstairs to see if there was anything there. What we did find was an empty room with a bar and a pool table. Brilliant!

On Saturday we got to Ninian Park after another 'five minute' walk and met up with Lauren. The match was a bit crap, apart from Prestons two goals, which did look better on the telly. Thankfully afterwards we had Steve as our escort back to the city centre, handy really as for some unknown reason Henri had decided to wear his Preston shirt! We pissed ourselves as a little child of roughly 7 years old pushed him and called him scum! On the way back there was some sort of asian parade going on which was really really good, lots of women dressed in lovely coloured saris and men singing and dancing and banging drums. Some people we're painted blue for some reason too :-S

After we got back to the centre we parted ways, the drive back was miles better, took us about 3 1/2 hours, and we saw Liam Chilvers at the services, coming out of Burger King. Maybe that's why Preston can't win any matches ;-)

Cardiff here we come!

I'm going to Cardiff on Friday with Chris meeting some friends for a night out and Cardiff v Preston. I'm sooo excited! It'll be nice seeing Emily again as the last and only time i saw her was back in February in Sheffield. I finally picked my outfit today, white top with illuminous pink skulls all over it (modelled by Charley in Big Brother, but we'll convieniently forget about that) black leggings and black patent peep toe wedges.

Applied for a new job today, a 9 month secondment in student services covering maternity leave. I hope i get it, as it will be nice to have a change, plus it's great experience. I should hopefully be on the same salary too so i can't go wrong really!

Star England striker Emile Heskey has had an operation today on his broken metertarsal. Poor Emile :-( Highly unlikely he's reading my blog, but i wish him a speedy recovery, not just because we'll probably not score now for the next 6-8 weeks, but because he seems like a very nice bloke.

Arrrgghhh!

Work is madness! It seems like every weirdo has enroled at college this year. As well as weird i mean awkward too. One woman had a go at me this morning because i had the audacity to tell her she has to buy a pass to park on the carpark. Hello! Your not special you know! She got really stroppy and childlike, so i started being sarcastic to her, much hilarity when she came back half an hour later with a form to claim money for her college materials. Mwahahahaha!! I was very tempted to 'accidently' knock it into the bin but i didn't for reasons unbeknown even to me.

We had a great laugh later on when we realised she was asking for a laptop, because she has a lot of computer work to do. Ha, like we're just going to give you a laptop you silly bint. And guess what course she's doing........FLORISTRY!!

Didn't realise you needed a £400 laptop computer to arrange flowers.

I had a nice surprise today too, turns out that i get time and a half for any extra time i work so i've got 10 1/2 hours just for working two extra evenings :-) Just what i need as i want to finish early two days next week.

Accrington Stanley...Who are they?

Exactly!

Accrington Stanley are kind of my second team. I've watched them quite a bit over the past few years with my uncle being a season ticket holder, but i've not been recently, and with them certainly needing the cash at the moment and this weekend being an international weekend, me and chris decided we'd go.

They played Grimsby and won 4-1 quite comfortably, so maybe we are lucky charms who knows!

Half time consisted of a game of 'crossbar challenge' which i think most teams have now. What happens at Accy is that a programme number is selected at random, this person then makes themselves known and can have a go at hitting the cross bar from the edge of the box for the chance to win £1000 yes £1000! The programme thing failed, so they had to come and pull someone out of the crowd by throwing a football into the crowd, whoever catches it wins. Simple.

Unfortunatly a girl caught it, nothing wrong with that i hear you cry! However she had been slightly silly that morning and decided to go to the football in the most ridiculous pair of wedge sandals. let's just say she failed miserably on all 3 of her attempt, and the radio station running the competition kept hold of there £1000.

After the match we went into the crown pub to watch the England match. Another comfortable win. Michael owens goal was amazing, and Heskey was certainly a handful (although he should have burried his chance in the first half). Hopefully we'll have more of the same on Wednesday.

I saw my friend Charlene's little baby Mia yesterday too. She is the most adorable thing ever and seemed to love me. She just slept in my arms for a good half an hour, Although she's 2 weeks old, i doubt she does anything else at this point.

It's not over yet

Very pleased that the Klaxons have won the Mercury music prize. I do have to say that i really like Amy Winehouse too, but she really needs to get her act together.

Septembers not over yet either, so i'm still a busy busy bee! We took more money on monday than the whole first week of last September, it's madness. I have also stupidly volunteered to work late next Tuesday too. Silly me. I will get 3 hours of lieu time though which will come in handy when i want time off to get my hair done :-)

Heskey for England!

I can't believe it! Emile Heskey has been re-called to the England squad! Ha! Seriously though, he comes across as a very nice man and i'm very pleased for him, as long as it doesn't tire him out for our next match ;-)

Todays i've been out for a meal with my boyfriends family, to the italian orchard where we went for out anniversary meal. I didn't eat quite as much this time so i didn't feel like throwing up in the car on the way home, it was lovely though.

Today i have also learned that a member of a messageboard that i frequent has sadly passed away. This is a terrible shock, even though i have never met the bloke, you get to know someone by how and what they post. RIP BB.

Back to dreaded work tomorrow. We have all the public services students coming in to pay for their flammable shellsuits, which should keep us busy for an hour or two, and there'll probably be loads more people enroling too.

Hola!

I'm enroling on GCSE spanish next week, which i'm super excited about! Working at college means i get it free too due to 'staff development'. Don't see how Spanish helps my job role on reception, but hey it's saving me £189 so i'm certainly not complaining!

Today's a bit quiet at work, which is crap. September's a busy month as we have enrolment at the end of August and then we get all the stragglers during September, plus there's evenings to be covered. Plenty of lieu time for me!

Short blog for now, hopefully i'll have more to report later.

'We've got more fans than you...'

In fairness the Hull fans we're probably right last night. Although Hull played very well last night, we were shocking. If our fringe players think that falling over everytime someone came within 10 feet of them will get them a first team place then they are very much mistaken. Caleb Folan and David Cotteril step forward...

The Hull fans we're quite witty though, and i wish them well for the season. Singing 'south stand, south stand give us a song to our (closed) south stand raised a giggle. Also thank you to the man behind me who gave me 10 minutes of entertainment by getting his leg stuck in the seat!

I am ashamed to say that i left 5 mins early, but only so i could get off the car park and get back home in time for skins (which was faboo as usual)

Work yesterday was crap as usual, i overslept and was late in for a start which messed the day up. Then when i went up to the post office for a passport form and the bloody thing was shut due to 'unforseen circumstances' Hopefully they'll re-open today.

Then 2-5 was spent enroling students for next year which was fun fun. I should have been doing this joyous task til 8 but i skived off to go to the football :-) Oh well.

Well here it is!

I've been threatening to do one of these for a while, after getting the inspiration from Emily, so here it is!

My best friend had a baby last night, Mia Olivia weighing 7 pounds 15, rather her than me! Can't wait to see her though, i'm sure she'll be adorable.

Yesterday we got a point at West Ham. Paul Scharner (sporting yet another new hairstyle!) scored from an overhead kick. Surely the most eccentric player at Wigan at the moment. We've had a pretty good start so far and are sitting pretty in third place as i write this. Wonder how long that will last! But hey ho looks like Horwich Wanderers will struggle.

It's enrolment time at work at the moment. Great for people watching! I've been put in Wigan school for the Arts, so i get to enrol all the arty types (and childcare?) Some absolutely frightning girls who don't seem to be able to dress themselves in clothes that fit want to look after children! Scarey indeed. Much fun on Friday when one student got bored of waiting and got his guitar out and serenaded the whole room.He was bloody good too!

Pretty quiet weekend, so not much to report on this my first ever blog, hope you've enjoyed it regardless.
